Scarlett reaches Victor Lawson before Damian. The signed investment lands while Damian watches from the doorway. Damian then offers to invest in her company. She hands him a shell company contract. Ethan investigates her family, her lab, her movements. He installs surveillance and watches. Then he brings up her stepmother, her stepsister, her father, the Sterling Group, and tells her, "You don't have to carry this alone." Scarlett begins to trust him. But Willa keeps appearing. When Willa falls off a cliff, Ethan rushes to the hospital. Willa fakes amnesia and claims to be the lady of the house, so Scarlett calls the police. Later at the auction, Ethan places the ruby necklace on Scarlett and announces he has only one wife. After the auction, Vivian walks to Willa and they whisper together, glancing back at Scarlett.

Then Vivian toasts Scarlett at the banquet. Scarlett drinks, spits the wine into a tissue, and waits. Vivian locks her in a room with a bald man. Scarlett beats him and pins him under her foot. Ethan smashes the door open. He sees her standing over the man, pulls her into his arms, and holds her tight. Then he asks how she knew the wine was drugged. Scarlett says nothing.

The fight over the Sterling Group is far from over. Damian is still the shared enemy. The contract marriage that started as cover begins to turn real.
