That Prince Is A Girl: The Princess And Her Grand King

Orestus, the tyrant king, offers his niece Akira to the Urakai. Murphy, a Navian noble, assaults Akira; Emeriel, disguised as a male prince, intervenes and threatens him. Both sisters end up in Urakai territory as slaves.

At Ravenfort, Livia the housekeeper separates them. Akira is marked as a sacrifice for the beast king Daemonikai. Emeriel learns the history: humans broke a peace on the eclipse night, Daemonikai's inner beast was confined, and the beast survives on blood and sex. Akira's purpose is the chamber. Escape brings fifty lashes and risks exposing Emeriel's secret. Akira's warning: Emeriel must never let them learn she is a girl.

Emeriel's body enters heat. Livia discovers she is a woman. Livia's diagnosis lands: "It means you are now a siren." Heat cycles, soulmates, and full heat follow. Emeriel rejects being a siren or a mate. Livia warns that her beauty and secret will not stay hidden.

Akira survives the beast's chamber, a first. Vladya, one of the four supreme rulers, questions her and orders her back in five nights at the moonlight festival; if she refuses, Emeriel goes instead. The sisters reunite and each tries to take the other's place. Livia is summoned to Blackstone Hold by Vladya, then assigns Emeriel to the wine cellar.

Emeriel hears warnings about the high lords: Ottai can be gentle, Vladya is terrifying but fair, and Zaiper is a demon whose slaves die daily. Vladya hates humans and threatens Emeriel. Zaiper pushes to kill the beast; Vladya refuses action until the eclipse. Sinai is named as Daemonikai's Bloodhost.

The beast breaks free. It chases Emeriel, not Akira. Warnings follow that resistance will make the beast vicious, and that the beast has chosen the little prince. The closing question is whether Emeriel might be Daemonikai's soulmate. Emeriel's identity and Akira's survival both hang on the next chamber night.
