Eliza Shaw, the elder daughter of the Shaw family, faces public humiliation at her father's will reading. Her fiancé Wayne Price ends their engagement and shows photos he claims prove her betrayal. Beth Shaw, her sister, and Ruby Shaw, the family head, use the scandal to cut Eliza out of the inheritance and move the marriage pact to Beth.

The night before, Beth and Wayne had planned to drug Eliza, hire men at an old factory, and take photos to destroy her. Doris Moss, CEO of UVLACO Group, has had her assistant Vince Whitlock tail Eliza since Mr. Shaw's accident. Doris owed Eliza's father a favor, and Eliza once gave Doris hope when her father helped Doris. Doris stops the men, has them send a photo to Beth, and takes Eliza away. In the car, the drug takes effect, and they have sex.

The next morning, Doris shows Eliza evidence that Wayne and Beth ordered the attack and had an affair before Mr. Shaw died. Doris also reveals Beth is Ruby's child with the family butler, Hudson, not Mr. Shaw's daughter. Hospital camera footage shows someone swapped Mr. Shaw's meds. Doris offers a one-year marriage contract: Eliza reclaims everything, and Doris makes everyone who hurt her pay. Eliza agrees.

Eliza returns to the Shaw estate, strikes Beth, and promises to attend the inheritance gala. Beth and Ruby panic and decide to use the drifter from the factory as a witness. At the gala, Beth calls Eliza a slut and says the man in the photo is her fling. Eliza counters that the person in the photo is her legal spouse. Beth brings out the drifter, who claims Eliza paid him for sex. Eliza plays a recording of Beth and Wayne planning to drug her, hire men, and take photos.

Wayne calls the recording AI fabrication. Sanford, a federal officer, backs him and moves to arrest Eliza for slander and fraud. Doris arrives and fires Sanford. Sanford admits Wayne gave him five hundred thousand in cash and promised to pull strings for his reelection; the recording is real. Doris reveals she is the person in the photo and Eliza's husband: "I'm the one in the photo and I'm her husband." Vince drags the drifter back. Eliza makes him repeat his claim, and Doris asks if he is sure. The drifter recognizes Doris, remembers her factory warning that only one would leave alive, and flips. He says Beth and Wayne found him under the bridge and paid him to destroy Eliza, and shows the phone messages.

Ruby still claims sole authority and gives the Shaw fortune to Beth. Doris exposes Beth as Ruby's illegitimate daughter with Hudson, and Ruby concedes the report is real. Later, as Wayne tries to shield Beth, Ruby takes the blame for the setup—hiring the men, spiking the drink, taking the photos—and insists Beth knew nothing. Wayne then says Ruby planned it and he carried out the details, calling Beth innocent. Wayne and Ruby are arrested. Beth threatens Eliza with pure misery. Beth's revenge turns to kidnapping and arson until Doris kills her. Jealous Maren allies with a mafia boss, but Doris turns the trap around, and Maren dies. Doris proposes. They marry and rebuild the family together.
