Aria Castellano is the only daughter of the Chairman of the High Mafia Commission. Three years ago she walked away from the marriage alliance her father wanted, took a fake name, and met Luca, the man who would become her husband, by the lake. They built a quiet life without a wedding, family blessing, or witnesses. She is days from giving birth.

Her husband Luca comes home with a plan: marry Bianca Voss, whose baby is due any day, to claim the Don's seat. He offers Aria doctors, guards, money, and the North River Safe House. She would stay his wife only in private, never in front of Bianca. Aria refuses. She asks the one question that matters: "What if I told you Bianca’s family is nothing compared to mine?" Luca hears the woman who grows tomatoes and makes jam, not the daughter of the Chairman.

Before the wedding, Luca decides every trace of Aria and their child must disappear. He burns the cabin, the half-finished cradle, and the fence they painted together. Aria is moved into the guarded north wing, with guards outside every window and an elevator that opens only for Luca’s palm. He promises they will have everything they had before, only better. He was the one burning it.

Aria remembers the fight with her father. He wanted her to marry the heir of an East Coast alliance to keep commission votes stable. She shook off her guards, took a fake name, and ran to the lake. Luca hid his surname. She hid Castellano. He once promised her a diamond tiara for a real wedding.

In the safe house, maids whisper that Luca is borrowing the Castellano star, a diamond crown made for a Castellano daughter, for Bianca. The crown never belonged to the Voss family. It belonged to Aria's family.

Luca brings her pumpkin soup. When Aria asks about Bianca, he gives her the birthday night at the Voss house, the drinking, and Bianca's pregnancy. Aria remembers the music box he gave her the next morning and the lie it covered. Then labor begins. Luca admits he put a dose in the soup to delay the birth until Bianca delivers first.

Aria gives Luca her real name and demands her father's private medical team. He accuses her of lying about being a Castellano and leaves her locked in. Bleeding and in pain, she drags herself to an old cookbook and finds the emergency beacon her father once pressed into her hand. She presses it. A red light flickers three times.
