Dumping My Mr.April Fools

Sienna Hale and Dominic Ashford have been together for six years. His first five proposals were April Fools' pranks: a snake in the ring box, a ring with thorns, a push into a pool, a locked room, and her hair cut while she slept. On their sixth anniversary, he swears the proposal is real. She shows up in his favorite dress. It is another setup. Valerie Sterling, the friend behind it, reveals the bet: if Sienna came, Dominic loses and waits another year. Sienna came. Then comes the cake to her face. Sienna tosses the ring she never took off and ends it.

Dominic does not go after her. He assumes she has nowhere to go. A professor calls Sienna about a spot on the super chip team. The lab is the only one running it, and the final roster locks next week. She had said no three times. This time she accepts. Flights are in three days.

Dominic pulls Sienna into a bar for Valerie's game. Valerie sees Sienna dancing with a man, goes over, and a stranger hits on her. Dominic chases him off. Valerie asks if he was jealous. Then Valerie grabs what she calls makeup remover, aims for Sienna's face, and it is disinfectant. Sienna blocks it and burns her hand. Valerie gets some on her own hand too.

Dominic carries Valerie to the hospital and stays by her side. When someone asks about Sienna, he says her burn is nothing and she will live. Sienna files a suit against Valerie. Dominic throws a bank card at her as compensation and says the Ashford name means no lawyer in the city will touch her case. After he leaves, Sienna says to herself that it is all over. She leaves the hospital early despite the burn and plans to leave the country.

On the morning of her departure, Sienna overhears Dominic in Valerie's room with his friends. A friend says, "He only went after Sienna on a bet with Valerie." Dominic insists Sienna cannot live without him and has no roof over her head without him. Dominic sends Sienna a text: he brought food to her room and they need to talk. She ignores it and leaves. By the time Dominic reaches her room, the nurse is changing the sheets. She has already checked out. The nurse hands him the bank card Sienna left behind and mentions she is leaving the country.

Sienna goes to Ireland. Dominic is too late to stop her wedding.
