Bound to the Beast King

Five centuries ago, the Urekai king was cursed into a beast, and only his soul-bond could break it. Countless girls were sent to his bed. None came back alive. Princess Emeriel was raised as a boy to escape that fate. When her sister was sold to the Urekai, Emeriel refused to stay behind. She followed her, sold as well, even after being warned that a pretty boy would not lack masters.

In her dreams, a Urekai man told her he had waited five hundred years for her and that her soul was made for his. Keira later told her the beast had smelled her on Keira and kept saying mate. She learned she was a Syren, a human who could bond with a Urekai. Before that bond could be tested, Grand Lord Zaiper called the beast a mindless feral, and the court voted to execute him on the eclipse moon. He had already saved her once, carrying her out of the court when no one else would. She refused to let him die. She bared her neck and let him drink her blood. For a moment, the beast shifted into the man from her dreams. Then the human shape collapsed. One feeding was not enough.

The failed transformation did not stop her. She kept feeding him, and Daemonikai saved her again and again. Later, she revealed who she was and offered her own blood in a ritual to return him to human shape. But Daemonikai, still haunted by a past betrayal, refused her. She left and lost their child.

Two years later, he lay dying. Emeriel returned, exposed Zaiper's plot, and saved him. He ended slavery, made her his queen, and together they began to rebuild the kingdom.
