Amelia walks into Jake's costume party on their fifth anniversary wearing a bunny outfit, expecting Jake to finally marry her. Instead, Sara reveals the whole setup was a bet, and Jake doesn't deny it while the room films Amelia's humiliation. Hours later, Amelia is at city hall asking a mechanic she barely knows to marry her. Julian accepts.

Trouble finds her fast. Sara and a man named Caldwell frame Amelia's younger brother Mason for theft and throw him into a fighting pit with starved lions. Amelia pleads with Jake for help, but he warns her to stop provoking Sara and follow Sara's demands. Julian doesn't hesitate. He calls Leo and orders him to retrieve Mason. Minutes later, masked men storm the pit and bring Mason out alive.
Sara escalates. Her men kidnap Amelia, drug her, and plan to film an assault. Julian traces her phone and calls the kidnappers. His voice is flat: "I'm Julian Sterling. If you hurt my wife, I will send you straight to hell myself." The kidnappers laugh, thinking it's a bluff. Julian arrives with a team, takes Amelia to a hospital, and lets her believe the police saved her.
He doesn't tell her about the Sterling empire. His assistant Leo warns that the longer Julian hides the truth, the worse it will be when Amelia finds out. Julian decides to wait, unsure Amelia would stay for him rather than his power. Then he asks Amelia and Mason to move in with him, promising protection. The marriage is fragile, and the biggest secret hasn't touched it yet.
