Blair Hart turns Ryder Vale’s dare into a reason to cut him down, not a crush. Ryder treats it as a game—until the challenge turns real and he has to prove he wants Blair, not another victory.
Blair Hart hides her true self after a heartbreak. At school she is one of the few girls who did not fall for Ryder Vale, the campus playboy. At lunch he dismisses her as not his type and too boyish; Blair refuses his apology because she believes he meant it.
She starts dating Owen Pierce, a kind, smart student with no crowd of heartbroken girls around him. Ryder calls Owen a bad choice. Blair reads it as jealousy.
Then Ryder dares Sienna to kiss Owen. Owen does not refuse. Blair confronts Ryder; he treats the dare as a game and points to Owen’s choice not to say no. Blair holds Ryder responsible for ruining her relationship. The argument ends with Blair hating him.
Afterward Blair sees two choices: Owen cheated by choice, Ryder was cruel by choice. What stays with her is that she was still the girl no one chose. She decides someone should cut Ryder Vale down, and maybe it should be her.
That decision becomes a challenge: Blair pursues Ryder. Their challenge stops being a game. Ryder has to prove he wants Blair, not just another win.
