Under His Hands

Chloe's wealthy husband Arthur runs her life with control and indifference, and her insomnia has become another problem for him to manage. He orders a deep tissue massage for her, tells her to meet him in the garage afterward, and says he has an international call to take. Chloe objects; Arthur answers with the premium VIP membership he paid for.

At the exclusive spa, massage therapist Julian begins the session. Chloe rejects the touch. Julian keeps working; Arthur is just outside. The massage becomes a test of how quiet Chloe can stay.

Arthur hears noise and questions what she is doing. Julian frames the pressure as normal deep tissue work—lumbar tension, counter pressure—and later covers with lumbar adhesions and muscle spasms. Arthur calls her a nuisance. Later he asks why she is quiet, then why she is breathing so heavily. Chloe blames the heat. Arthur complains about the temperature and announces he is coming in with merger documents for her spousal consent. He enters, complains about the lavender oil, and leaves the documents for her signature.

Chloe retreats to the restroom. Arthur waits outside and presses her to sign so he can return to the office. Chloe stays behind the locked door.

Later, Julian is standing there, and Chloe still has to choose between the marriage Arthur controls and the desire Julian awakened.
