The Ugly Girl is Chaos Queen

Aurora is the Northern Realm's eldest daughter. Her father, Lord Howard, sees her as a stain. Her half-sister, Vivian, mocks her in public. Only her mother defends her, and that loyalty costs the woman an arm.

At a gathering for Marcus Leon, Vivian humiliates Aurora with a fireball. Marcus breaks their engagement in front of everyone. Lord Howard announces Vivian will marry Marcus instead. Then he arranges for Aurora to marry the blind Duke Florian, whose previous wives all ended up dead or crippled, in exchange for mining rights.

Aurora's mother tries to help her escape. Guards drag the woman behind a cart until she stops screaming. Aurora refuses to leave her. The family forces the mother into servitude, and Aurora endures further abuse while trying to save her. At one point, Vivian offers to release her mother if Aurora takes a branding iron in her mouth. Aurora does it. Vivian laughs and breaks the promise.

A tornado appears and pulls Aurora in. A grand master finds her and explains that the chaos divine power sealed inside her since birth has warped her spine and face. He offers to break every bone and rebuild her. She endures the spinal reconstruction and then the facial reshaping, a process with no known survivor.

Two months later, Aurora arrives at the Holy Light Tournament veiled. Vivian dismisses her as a hideous freak hiding behind a veil. Lord Howard recognizes Aurora's bracelet and orders the veil torn off, promising to break her legs and send her to the duke if it is really her.

Aurora removes the veil. The crowd sees a face like a goddess. Then she asks the question she came back to deliver: "Are you ready to face your end?"
