The Triplets' Final Regret

Elisa Carter is the only half-human, half-vampire at Cross Academy. At eighteen, she has one week to choose purification into a full human or transfer to night school as a vampire. She always planned to stay human for the Lockhart triplets—Jacob, Oliver, and Nash, the headmistress Catherine Lockhart's sons. Catherine took Elisa in ten years ago after her parents died, and the triplets made her feel safe. She even wondered which one she might marry.

Amber, the maid's daughter, arrives. After a championship win, the triplets dedicate the victory to Amber's birthday. Elisa's birthday falls the same day. When she points that out, they accuse her of ruining Amber's celebration and tell her to leave. Amber accuses Elisa of stealing, and the triplets believe Amber. Elisa becomes the thief the school talks about.

Elisa goes to Catherine and makes her choice: "I'm going to become a vampire and I'm transferring to the night school." Catherine tries to stop her, but Elisa has nothing left to stay for. Catherine agrees and promises not to tell the triplets. The transfer papers are signed. Catherine also tells her the old Vampire Lord remembers the marriage pact with Elisa's father, and his family will protect her.

Before Elisa leaves for night school, Amber dumps Elisa's gifts and takes the handkerchief the triplets gave her. The triplets see only Elisa's reaction. They demand an apology. Elisa refuses to apologize for something she did not do. Oliver burns the handkerchief. In the car, the triplets tell her to find her own way to school. The Vampire Lord's butler Joseph confirms the transfer is approved and a car will pick her up at sunset for the ceremony. Elisa rides the bus alone and throws up.

At school, Amber asks the triplets to lift her in the celebration pose they used to do with Elisa. They do. Elisa tears the photo, dismissing their shared memories as never real. Amber then accuses Elisa of slamming her. Elisa denies it. Jacob hits Elisa, then apologizes, but still demands she apologize to Amber. Elisa refuses. They tell her not to come home.

Catherine sees Elisa and offers to handle the triplets. Elisa refuses. Catherine gives her the Midnight Star, the Lockhart family heirloom, as a gift for her new life. Catherine mentions the old Vampire Lord remembers the marriage pact and Elisa might marry his heir. Elisa leaves for night school. Elisa appears in her night school uniform, held in the arms of a powerful vampire heir. The triplets who once threw her away fall into regret and panic, kneeling before her and begging for forgiveness.
