Liam Foster leaves prison after five years for a hit-and-run he did not commit. Naomi Sterling, his childhood friend and now CEO of Sterling Technologies, has found the crash surveillance footage and put technicians on restoring it. The video was tampered with, and the countdown to restoration becomes Liam's leverage. Colin Foster, the adopted son the Foster family protected, is preparing a celebration for his Ivy League PhD admission.

Serena Foster, Liam's older sister, picks him up. The crash flashback shows Liam denying he drove and pointing to Colin. Lawrence and Catherine Foster, Liam's biological parents, refuse to believe him. Emily Pierce, Liam's ex-fiancée and Ethan's sister, identifies Liam as the driver. Serena sends him to the police station, though she was once the only warmth he had in the Foster house.

A separate flashback shows the Fosters celebrating Colin's birthday with a game console, limited-edition sneakers, and a watch, then pulling Liam into a family photo. After release, the Foster home treats Liam as an outsider. His fingerprint is deleted, he is given guest slippers, and he has no proper room. A call to the finance department confirms the monthly transfers meant for Liam were cancelled, while Colin received an extra million each month. Liam had worked since school for tuition and living expenses. Prison leaves him with lasting injuries.

The family calls the gathering a welcome-home dinner. Liam arrives in the old school uniform the Fosters picked him up in and is mocked. Colin later reveals the event is actually a celebration for his Ivy League PhD admission. Liam asks Butler Tom for the disownment papers he had Tom prepare before prison; Tom has them. Liam asks his father to sign. Lawrence signs, and Liam is no longer his son.

Naomi pressures the prison abusers, and they confess who was behind the beatings. She confirms the video restoration is complete and heads to the banquet hall. At the banquet, the truth closes in: the surveillance footage is restored, and the evidence points to the real hit-and-run culprit, not Liam.

Emily's role remains central. Liam once donated a kidney to her, but she identified him to protect Colin, the person she loved. Ethan, Emily's brother and Liam's best friend, remains in a coma. As the Foster family celebrates Colin and cuts Liam off, Naomi Sterling walks into the banquet with the proof and says, "I have evidence to prove that the real culprit is him." The lie that sent Liam to prison is about to break open.

Dramaglance Notes
The welcome-home dinner is a lie, and Liam walks into it wearing the same school uniform the Fosters picked him up in. That image sticks. The flashback of Colin getting a game console, limited-edition sneakers, and a watch while Liam is pulled into the family photo says everything. Then the smaller cuts land: fingerprint deleted, guest slippers, monthly money cancelled, Colin getting an extra million, Emily identifying the man who donated her a kidney. Naomi works the proof from the outside, then walks into the banquet with it while the family is still calling Liam the criminal. Colin's celebration is still going when Naomi arrives. That is the hook: not just whether Liam is cleared, but what the Fosters do when they can no longer pretend.
