Audrey is a cryogenics researcher whose project lacks volunteers. She has also endured her husband Dominic's ongoing betrayal. After he repeatedly lies to her and then runs off to his lover on their anniversary, she decides to take part in the experiment herself. She asks her team to keep her participation a secret and to announce her death publicly. A death certificate is left for her husband, who is later told that she is gone. He refuses to believe it at first, then is forced to leave, still insisting he will wait for her.
