Margaret returns from Antarctica crippled, the enzyme destroyed by Edward's adopted children who forced her to strip on camera. But they still don't know who she is.
Queen Margaret returns from ten years at the South Pole carrying the world's only vial of life enzyme—a breakthrough that could cure untreatable rare diseases. She lost the ability to have children in the extreme cold. King Edward has adopted three royal orphans during her absence. Margaret must now observe them and decide who inherits the throne.
The enzyme is for Charlotte, Edward's youngest adopted daughter, who needs it to survive. Margaret carries it herself, intending to deliver it to the Windsor medical foundation.
At the airport, the two eldest adopted children arrive to pick up the Queen. They have never seen her face. They collide with a woman in a wheelchair, smashing their sapphire necklace meant as a gift for her majesty. Furious, they attack the disabled woman, shove aside Catherine—an airport security guard who intervenes—and declare themselves above the law. The whole country belongs to their father and mother. Who dares touch them.
The disabled woman tells them she is Queen Margaret. Her legs were crippled by frostbite during scientific research in Antarctica. They laugh. The Queen is of noble status. This shabby creature cannot be her. Catherine testifies Margaret is telling the truth. The two heirs dismiss them both.
Charlotte arrives, sick and breathless. She sees the enzyme case and asks if this woman is her majesty. Her phone is dead. She cannot check the photo Edward sent. The eldest two insist the cripple is an imposter. Charlotte believes them. She smashes the enzyme vial to the ground. Blue liquid spreads across the floor. She calls it fake ink. She throws cash at Margaret. Then she demands Margaret strip naked and kneel to apologize. Catherine tries to intervene. Charlotte orders her to strip as well. Margaret cannot watch the enzyme be destroyed and Catherine humiliated. She begins to remove her clothes. Charlotte films it.
Margaret warns Charlotte she will regret this. Charlotte orders her brothers to hold Margaret down. They prepare to destroy her hands—the only hands in the world that can perform the enzyme extraction procedure.
King Edward arrives at the airport. Margaret is not answering her phone. Something is wrong.
