Vera Green married Jason West for family interests. A year in, the marriage is sexless. Jason hides behind germaphobia and never saved her number. Long-term lack of sex has left Vera with a sex addiction. She goes to a clinic for treatment.
Roy Evans, covering a shift for his sister Sophie at the hospital she runs, is the attending doctor. He examines her, and they have sex. He gives her his name as a safe word and tells her the addiction comes from not getting laid regularly. Pills only mask symptoms. She leaves planning to find a female doctor. He offers her a ride, and she says her husband will pick her up.
That night at home, Vera dresses to approach Jason. He refuses her, tells her to handle it herself, and announces they will sleep in separate rooms. Later, Vera finds Jason awake with Regina Green's photo, masturbating. Regina is Vera's half sister, the family favorite. Vera was Jason's second choice.
At the company entrance, Lily Watson, Vera's best friend, says the new CEO is young and handsome. The new CEO arrives. It is Roy. Later, in the office, Harold, the general manager, tells Vera that Mr Evans asked for her by name. Roy tells her pills alone won't cut it and she can come to him anytime, then kisses her and names her his temporary executive assistant. Vera reads the promotion as a way to force her out and resigns.
Roy confronts her. Resignation requires one month's notice and legal handover, or two years' salary as breach compensation. He orders her to the office in thirty minutes. "I'll cure you myself."
She returns to the office. As his secretary, daily contact only worsens her condition.
