Dante Orsini is done being told who to marry. His mother Adriana wants him to take Sloane Hawthorne, so he runs. Her men cut him off at the Riverside Farmers Market, and he ducks under a table at Malone's meat. Cassie Malone, a cow-butcher with no memory of her past, drives them off. A slip pulls them into an accidental kiss. Dante leaves. Cassie finds the card he dropped and delivers the meat to Orsini Group, handing back a card with no limit instead of using it. That returns more than his money. It gets his attention. Kevin runs a check, and Dante brings her in.

The offer is blunt. A contract marriage. Cassie, an orphan taken in by a family three years ago, has Charlie's medical bills to cover. She names a monthly number. The deal lands at $500,000 a month. They marry.

At Dante's office, Adriana and the woman using Sloane Hawthorne's name arrive together. Cassie declares Dante her husband. Then the woman wearing Sloane's name looks at Cassie's face and remembers. Three years ago, the real Sloane was pushed into the sea. She lost her memory and became Cassie. Ivy Brooks, the Hawthorne servant's daughter, took her place. In the flashback, Sloane grips the boat's edge, and Ivy steps down hard on her hand. "From today on, I'm Sloane Hawthorne."

Cassie takes money to the family that saved her and to Charlie's bills. Then she comes to the Orsini estate. Adriana doubts the marriage is real. During the confrontation, Cassie names the scar along Dante's left ribs. Dante freezes. He has been searching for the female doctor who saved him three years ago, the one with a heart-shaped mark on her knee. A contract wife was only supposed to be a stand-in. Cassie just gave him a reason to look closer.

At Sloane's succession ceremony, something about the place feels familiar. Cassie signs Sloane Hawthorne's name. John, Sloane's cousin and the Hawthorne family's asset manager, taught Sloane to write. He would know that handwriting. Ivy panics. She drugs John's drink first, then Cassie's, and locks them in a room together. The plan is a scandal big enough for Dante to throw Cassie out. Dante locks down the exits and pulls every camera feed. He gets there in time and beats John.

Cassie falls. Her head hits the ground. The memory comes back. The contract marriage, the impostor's name, and Dante’s search for the doctor all point to the same truth: Cassie is Sloane Hawthorne. With Dante's help, she reclaims her memory, her name, and her family.
