The Blind Man's Bride

Rebecca Dixon believed she was treated decently in the Swaine family. That illusion shatters when she overhears her husband Joseph and his mother planning to strip her of everything. Timothy Dixon is dead, the Dixon Group carries over a billion in debt, and Joseph intends to divorce her after taking what her father left. When Joseph realizes Rebecca heard everything, he decides she can't leave alive.

Rebecca runs. She gets into a passing car. The man beside her is drugged and struggling to stay in control. She ends up at a safe house with him, and that night she is the one who takes off her coat, kisses him first, and gives herself to a stranger she can't see clearly. By morning she only remembers his voice.

With nowhere to go, Rebecca turns to her mother. Her mother sees an opportunity. Rosina has run away from an arranged marriage to Martin Stevenson, the blind eldest son of the Stevenson family. Rebecca is told to take Rosina's place. Martin asks her one blunt question about her marriage to Joseph. She denies Joseph ever touched her, explaining that his legs recovered but the marriage was nothing but paper. He agrees to marry her.

Martin brings her straight to the apartment she once shared with Joseph to force the divorce. There, she records Joseph and Page planning to find her and have her locked up or driven insane. Page is Joseph's mistress and Rebecca's former best friend, already pregnant. Martin steps forward and forces Joseph to sign the divorce by threatening to release the recording. Joseph warns that Martin is blind and abandoned, and that his younger brother Milton is the real heir.

Later, Rebecca returns to her mother's home and her stepfather Howard tries to force himself on her. Martin gets her out of there. Her mother refuses to believe her, sides with Howard, and throws her out. Rebecca realizes she has no family left.

Dixon Group is still collapsing. Suppliers have stopped sending materials. Rebecca needs eighty million to keep production alive, but every bank refuses. Milton corners her in a restroom and offers the money for one condition: sex in front of Martin. She calls him a bastard and walks away.

Martin becomes the unlikely anchor. He brings her into his house, shields her from the Swaines, and starts helping her plot to reclaim the Dixon Group. Their contract marriage begins to shift. The larger secrets are still ahead: the staged pregnancy to expose a mole turns real, and the blind husband Rebecca married is the same stranger who rescued her that rainy night.
