Fiona thought Marcus would propose once he became regional manager at Carter Group. Instead, a viral video shows him kissing Sophie, her best friend. Three years together, three jobs to pay his student loans, and the two people she trusted most had already betrayed her. She carries Fiona when her ankle gives out and takes her home. But the apartment is too big, too luxurious, and Fiona used to clean buildings like this. Taylor lies fast: it's her boss's place, rented cheap. Fiona stays, and for the first time since Marcus threw her out, she feels safe.

Marcus hasn't finished with Fiona. He lures her to a luxury cruise restaurant for a cleaning job, then humiliates her in front of everyone. He forces her to drink, and when she refuses, he tells her to get on her knees. That's when Taylor arrives. She calls Fiona her girlfriend, demands a doctor, and tells everyone she won't let anyone who hurt Fiona slide.

Marcus still thinks Taylor is just a mechanic. He threatens to destroy both of them. Taylor just looks at him and asks, "What makes you so sure that I'm not Miss Carter?" The heir's identity is out, and Fiona hasn't even had time to process what that means.
