Seven Years of Ice and Vengeance

Seven years after faking his death and fleeing the battlefield, Aedrin returns to Flamekeep during a spring feast. He left behind his pregnant wife Lya, and his desertion led to the slaughter of her family and the destruction of their home. Lya survived only because the Dragonlord, Roderick Harwyn, pulled her from the ruins and later made her his wife. Aedrin knows none of this. He humiliates Lya publicly, mocks her loneliness, and announces his plan to claim the Ice Dragon as his birthright. What he doesn't realize is that the dragon hatched seven years ago — on the night her world burned, when her blood touched its shell.
