Only Him Breaks My Rules

Jax swears he's straight and only protecting Miles. When family pressure and campus rumors close in, will he tear down the border or lose the one exception he needs?
Jax Miller, a campus athlete, has one rule for everyone: keep your distance. No touching, no sharing, no emotional roommate bonding. Then Miles Winter, a soft-spoken art student, moves into Room 214 and starts crossing lines.
Jax tapes a border across the room and lists the rules. Miles accidentally touches him, and Jax calls it an emergency exception before denying he has exceptions at all. At the cafeteria, a coffee spill makes Jax let Miles help clean him up, and Jax gives him five seconds. On the stairs, Miles is carrying a sketchbook, gets bumped, and Jax catches him, then crouches to tie Miles's shoe. Jax insists shoes don't count.
Jax learns Miles is allergic to blueberries and gives him food without them. Miles hands over his waffles. Miles sticks a bandage on Jax's finger, and Jax complains he didn't ask for it. During a blackout, Jax hands over his hoodie and dries Miles's hair, calling it damage control. He insists it's not a pattern: “one hoodie one blanket not a pattern.” Miles notices that Jax's hands are warm and says so. Jax tells him not to say things that make him forget the rules.
The rules keep bending as campus gossip grows. Family pressure and a sports injury force Jax to decide whether he's only protecting Miles or something more. The border on the floor waits for him to tear it down himself.
