Victor Thorn, Cole's uncle, seized the Thorn family company. Cole accuses Victor of killing his father, Edward Thorn. When Cole confronts him, Victor says, "I just want you gone for good." Victor sends Cole into an uncanny realm, a Fiend Realm where every entrant must audition and rule-breakers are executed on the spot.
Inside, the rules are performance. Cole sees people die for freezing or answering wrong. His survival instinct triggers a 10,000X rebate system—spend one Wraith Coin, receive ten thousand. He has none. Later, the Cowboy Ghost rewards a woman who plays along with a Wraith Coin, then has her executed when she denies stealing a hundred coins. Cole sees the pattern: the ghosts improvise, and survival means playing along.
The Cowboy Ghost gives Cole a Wraith Coin after his performance, then accuses him of stealing a hundred. Cole spends the single coin on an abandoned old woman prop. The system returns 10,000 Wraith Coins. He shows the fortune, offers 1,000 coins to anyone who can prove his innocence, and the crowd exposes the Cowboy Ghost's lie. The Cowboy Ghost is executed for interference. The old woman prop is not what she seems.
The old woman demands 100,000 Wraith Coins for a ritual. The system flags it as a miracle ritual and cannot rebate it, but Cole goes through with it. She becomes Sibyl, the Oracle witch. Her prophecy says the run-down studio will become the Hollywood of the Fiend World, controlling entertainment. Cole uses the founder's ownership rights beneath the stage, buys Midnight Studio for one million coins, and the system returns ten billion. He abolishes deadly auditions and triples salaries.
Sibyl proposes a partnership. They negotiate a split, and a soul pact binds her to Cole. Later, robbers see Cole with a million Wraith Coins. Werewolves appear. Cole triples Crimson Moon's pay, hires them as security, and sends them to Midnight Studio. Sibyl warns that money without power makes him a walking buffet, then points him to the dark market.
At the dark market, visitors must buy, and asking a price means buying the item. A Crimson Moon agent tries to force Cole to buy the Star of Blood necklace for ten million. Cole points out he never asked for the price; the agent called the sales associate, so the agent is the buyer. The execution threat turns on the agent. The agent offers blood as tribute to Lord Bloodclaw. A blood sacrifice is summoned, able to bypass the rules and kill Cole.
