Marcus Drake is chairman of the Drake Consortium and Selene's biological father. He and his wife Eleanor have been searching for their daughter for twenty years. They attend her wedding disguised as humble workers to test whether she will accept them without knowing their wealth. Selene is the lost heir of the Drake Consortium, raised apart from them and unaware of her origins until they present proof at the ceremony. Kane Silver is the heir of the Silver Group and marries Selene solely to obtain her bone marrow, which is a perfect match for his illness. His father Lucian Silver is chairman of the Silver Group, and his mother Anna Silver is the madam chairman. Both treat Selene and her parents as inferior and openly admit the marriage is only about Kane's survival.
