A top virologist, Dr. Diane Reyes, has been living undercover as a junior doctor in Fiji. When her husband cheats on her with her best friend, he suddenly collapses from Virus X – a virus she has studied for years. She warns his family, but they fire her and throw her out. Soon after, at a medical summit, her colleague Dr. Williams reveals her true identity as the lead researcher of Virus X. She then gives the husband's family two days before his brain damage becomes permanent – and asks if they still want her to leave.
