Got a Passionate Lion, My Cold Snow Wolf Snapped

Tara, a human woman, registered with a companion agency for a passionate shifter to breed with. The agency sent Cole, a combat snow wolf, cold and distant. She spent night after night trying to trigger his instincts and dragging him to bed. Then she saw the agency's public registry feed: she had been sent the wrong partner. Snow wolves have rare breeding cycles, and Cole had never once pulled her in with his tail.

She called the agency to arrange a return. They confirmed the mix-up, promised a swap once a passionate type was available, and she told them not to notify Cole. After learning he was a combat snow wolf, Tara threw out her companion accessories and stopped teasing him. She kept her distance.

Cole noticed. He took her to a therapist because she had stopped buying things and stopped taking advantage of him. Then he started coming home every evening after training. He brought her to a shifter accessory shop and pressed his card into her hand. She bolted.

That night, Cole walked into the bedroom wearing the black button-down she always liked and offered himself for just this once. She did not understand why he was offering now. His face darkened.

Cole fell hard and spiraled into obsession. A lion companion crashed in. War, an unplanned pregnancy, and a gut-wrenching separation followed.
