Vivian spent five years turning from the fat girl her classmates mocked into a model on the verge of a global debut. Her debut lands at the Kensington, the same hotel as her high school reunion. Josephine, the queen bee who bullied her for three years, posts an old restroom video in the class group chat. It shows Vivian trapped with a sign taped to her shirt: fat pig and no eating allowed. Josephine tags her.
The group bets Vivian will not show. The pot climbs from one thousand to five thousand to twenty thousand dollars. Vivian replies in the chat, then wagers fifty thousand dollars on herself and promises to arrive on time. The chat goes silent, then explodes. Josephine calls it a joke and offers her an out; others mock the money as borrowed.
Josephine once dumped Vivian's lunch and called it help, locked her in the restroom for photos, and forced her onto a scale. Julian Hart, the star quarterback Vivian crushed on for three years, once taped her love letter to the school bulletin board. Now he messages her, dismisses the past as pranking, warns he has a girlfriend, and assumes Vivian is still obsessed.
Harper, Vivian's agent, arrives with gowns and an itinerary. The morning holds a signing, the afternoon a fitting. By seven Vivian must be at the Kensington; at eight Lumine announces her globally from the penthouse. The reunion is on the third floor. The launch is in the penthouse. Vivian chooses a black velvet gown and studies the woman in the mirror—down from two hundred twenty pounds to one hundred fifteen. Lumine Talent, which rejected Josephine three times, has given Vivian its contract.
The group chat turns the bet into a meme. Josephine posts Vivian's old gym shirt beside a scale and two chairs pushed together in the private room. Julian's girlfriend Layla joins the mockery. Vivian saves every photo and recording. The season's casting is led by Theodore, the industry's top judge; Josephine never made his list, while Vivian landed the closing look.
At the Kensington, Vivian goes to the third floor first. Josephine pushes to settle the bets and claims Vivian lost her nerve. Behind the door, Vivian hears Josephine plan to edit a video if she does not show, and dismiss any scene as an old friend's joke. Julian questions whether it is going too far. Vivian starts recording for her lawyer.
The countdown ends. Vivian opens the door and steps inside. The room goes silent. Someone asks who she is. Josephine's smile freezes. Josephine asks if Vivian walked into the wrong room. Vivian asks, “So don't you recognize me, old classmate?”
