At the joint city-state banquet, Liam shows up with Serafina Miller, his mistress. Skye sees Serafina and ignores the sneers as she walks past her. When a relic auction opens, Skye recognizes the forbidden wasteland no one wants. In her past life, it fell to Serafina and made her rich. Skye bids five million gold coins, then fifty million when Alistair Thorne's people push the price. She takes the land and tells Liam she wants a divorce. He refuses, but she stops caring.
She reaches Alistair through an encrypted message, offering information about contaminated energy cores hidden by his enemy. He lends her the fifty million and asks for one thing: humiliate Liam and Serafina at the next banquet. She agrees.
At the city-state banquet, Serafina tries to frame Skye for breaking a relic. Skye proves it is a replica, then speaks in the ancient language to shut her down. Serafina pushes her to play the harp, expecting a failure. Skye plays a piece from the old era that leaves the room silent. Wyatt Thorne, Alistair's grandfather, rises from his seat. He says the performance took guts, then turns to Serafina and tells Liam his mistress has no place making a scene. Serafina is thrown out.
Liam abandons Skye in the rain and takes away her guards. Alistair picks her up. On the drive, she tells him she wants to take down the Kensington family. He says he is looking forward to it, then reveals the wasteland will be rezoned as an energy core conservation area next week. The documents are sealed.
That night, Alistair's former guard Silas Ford kidnaps Skye and drags her toward an abandoned power station. Alistair gets word from his man Felix and orders everyone to gather. The first move in Skye's counterattack has already pulled him in.
