In 2224, Ivy Lander wins a lottery spot in an otome romance game. Clearing it by maxing the male prince's affection meter promises 10 million credits. A system malfunction leaves her with no mission, but her briefing said the male lead has white hair.

She finds Aaron Wallace, a silver-white-haired student who resembles her real-life idol Wayne. She enrolls back into high school, becomes his desk mate, and spends a month bringing snacks, milk, small gifts, walking with him, and talking to him. He never responds.

A number above Aaron keeps rising. Ivy reads it as affection and assumes he is the lonely, bullied fragile boy from her briefing. When she gets close, players freeze in fear and stare behind her. She turns and sees only Aaron, smiling, red streaks on his face.

Later in class, Ivy slips her hand into Aaron's. Players turn in horror; some bite their lips until they bleed and dare not make a sound. The number above Aaron climbs to 99. She thinks one more point clears the game.

One morning six new girls transfer into class and fill six empty desks. With everyone present, the homeroom teacher starts the game. That night Ivy returns to dorm 204 with three of them; the other three are in 205. Lily Sanders identifies Ivy as player 2 and questions why seven were chosen instead of six.

The group draws lots for who fetches the first key. Ivy draws No. 1. The key is in the dorm manager's room, and the first key earns a million-credit bonus. Wendy William sets a midnight deadline for Ivy's return. Ivy heads into the empty, freezing hallway with her phone as a flashlight and turns a corner. A boy in a school uniform drags himself toward her. She screams and runs.

On the night she pushes Aaron onto the bed, the long-missing system returns. It reveals the error: this is a horror game, and Aaron is the final boss. The number is his rage meter, not affection; at 100, every player in the dungeon will be killed. Ivy lifts her head to blood-red eyes and freezes. She tries to postpone. Aaron answers, "I'm not tired. Go on."
