Chloe wants Grace out of the picture, so at Ethan's birthday party she drugs Grace's drink and sends a man after her in the restroom. Grace fights him off and stumbles onto the hotel terrace, where Vincent—head of the Moretti family and Ethan's father—has a gun in her face. She begs for help and kisses him. They spend the night together.
Grace slips out before Vincent wakes, but he orders Marco to find out everything about her. Ethan, who spent the night with Chloe, catches a glimpse of Vincent carrying a woman into a room and dismisses it. When Grace returns with a lie about being unwell, Ethan buys it and calls her over to meet his father. Grace recognizes Vincent. He says they'll be seeing plenty of each other.
Two days later, before a movie date, Vincent intercepts Grace and uses what she left in his room to get her into his car. He tells her he does not let go of what is his, even his son's girlfriend. He kisses her. Ethan arrives outside and sees the car. Vincent keeps Grace in the car, tells her to say hello to her boyfriend, and Grace cannot say no.
