Broken Arm, Broken Bloodline

Kai refuses to kneel, but the Hale family hasn't seen the worst yet. Marcus mutates, monsters rise, and the only one who can end it is Kai.
Kai spends three years outside the wall after his family accuses him of pushing his grandfather into a monster pit. The accusation is a lie; Marcus, the family's newly acknowledged son, is the one who did it. Kai loses an arm in the wasteland and only survives because a frontline squad refuses to leave him behind.
When his exile officially ends, he returns to the Hale family for his grandparents. His sister Lena dismisses him as less than nothing and declares Marcus the rightful heir. His parents keep Lady Ruth in the dark by passing off his three-year exile as advanced training. At a public ceremony, the family orders Kai to face a live shade. He refuses, and they call him a coward who embarrassed the house.
The blame escalates when Marcus turns up injured. A servant points to Kai as the attacker. The family demands Kai kneel and apologize or give up the Hale name. Kai answers with one line: "I did nothing wrong." Gerald hits him with a stun baton. Kai's missing arm is exposed. Ruth orders everyone back. Gerald asks when this happened. Helen asks when Kai lost his arm. None of them knew about the wasteland or the arm.
The family's cruelty is now exposed. Marcus mutates and summons monsters that threaten the city. Kai defeats the monsters, walks away from the Hale family, and starts over with Marshal Ash, the one who treated him like a soldier instead of trash.
