After Divorce, I Became Don's Wet Nurse

Aria fed Don's daughter when every candidate failed. Now she wears his ring, and the ex who killed her baby is about to lose everything.
Aria walks through the rain with a suitcase and a few dollars. Her baby is gone, the divorce papers are signed, and a flyer catches her eye: wet nurse wanted, room and board included. That night she follows the address to the Rossi estate, the home of New York's oldest mafia family. She has no idea the job will make her the Don's wife.
Inside the estate, Aria hears a sound like a gunshot. Aria crashes into the Don, his gun sliding from her chin to her rain-soaked chest. He studies her in silence, then walks away. After changing, she enters the living room where three other women stand waiting. The Don holds his baby girl, Ella, who hasn't eaten in twenty-four hours. She screams and refuses formula. Aria picks up a stuffed bunny from the sofa, makes it talk, and pretends to feed the bunny at her chest. Ella stops crying, stares, and then latches on when Aria offers her breast. Everyone in the room can hear her swallowing. The corner of Don's mouth lifts.
That night, Don sits across from Aria. His first question is about her own child. Aria recounts the stairs, the lost baby, the divorce. He pauses, then makes the terms clear: the marriage is for Ella. "Marriage is the strongest contract there is." He offers a prenup, separate beds, a hundred grand a month. Aria's only counter is whether she keeps the money if they divorce. He agrees. No ceremony, no guests, just a signet ring slid across the dinner table.
Ella becomes Aria's shadow. She crawls into Aria's bed at night and follows her out of the estate for the first time. At the park, Aria watches Ella go from scared to brave on the slide. Aria's own grief doesn't vanish, but holding Ella, having Ella wipe her tears and call her mama, gives her something to hold onto. Don notices. He raises her pay again and gives her a car she actually accepts.
Five weeks after the divorce, Aria is at the park with Ella when Julian appears. He's wearing a sharp grey suit, hair slicked back. He looks at her and sneers at the Ivy League grad playing wet nurse. Aria stands there, Julian still thinking she's the same broke woman he threw away. He doesn't know she's now married to the most feared Don in New York. His reckoning hasn't started yet.
