Watch Out: I'm Not Just the Mecha King

Kyle enters as Zero and Marcus changes the first round to face him. The real match is whether his father will ever admit he was wrong.
Kyle wins the interstellar mecha tournament for the second year, then gets ordered to throw the next match. He refuses. Seraphina, his fiancée, turns against him and publicly claims he injected illegal enhancers into his mecha. Marcus steps into his captain's seat, and the Grand Duke rewards the betrayal.
His father Charles arrives and chooses the accusation over his son. "From now on, you are no longer my father," Kyle says. Charles sends him to the scrapyard planet. Kyle's mother Grace dies, and he loses his title, his name, and everyone he trusted.
On the scrapyard planet, he finds a rusted mech with a blood crystal from the war god Ares. The crystal bonds with him, and the junked machine transforms. It moves with a speed and power that scare off the gangsters when he uses it to save a girl named Lila.
Lila tells him about the interstellar mecha tournament, where the champion can get a wish. Kyle registers under the name Zero because the cheating scandal three years ago still follows him. He calls himself a parentless nobody and enters with the scrap-grade mech.
At the venue, Marcus and Seraphina arrive as honored guests. Kyle's father Charles is there as the alliance coach. The registration staff call Kyle's mech trash and refuse his entry until he proves it can move. Charles overrules them and gives Kyle a pass, citing the tournament's standard on guts and skill.
Kyle watches the first match between Lila and Nate. He spots a 0.3-second delay in Nate's left drive shaft and talks Lila through cutting her right arm power and striking the weak point. She wins. Marcus then pairs himself against Zero.
The second group begins. Kyle is ready to settle the score, and the man watching from the coach's seat still doesn't know the scrap pilot is his son.
