After a three-month absence, Colin prepares an absurdly extravagant welcome at the airport for his wife, Julie, complete with banners, a red carpet, and cash handouts to strangers. Julie is distinctly unimpressed, and her icy demeanor quickly cuts through the spectacle. The couple's return is abruptly overshadowed by the critical illness of Colin's grandfather, which plunges the family into crisis. The reading of the will, which names the notoriously unreliable Colin as successor, is immediately challenged by his opportunistic stepmother and uncle. Julie steps in decisively, physically ejecting them from the hospital and vowing to personally reform Colin into a capable leader. Her methods are strict, forcing him to study, which he initially evades through a comically botched attempt to use a fake business plan. His subsequent plea for help backfires when he tries to blackmail a group of influential family friends into intervening; the plan fails spectacularly when Julie effortlessly intimidates them all into submission, leaving Colin to finally face the reality of his new responsibilities.
