Quinn Porter submits a formal request to transfer out of the Army Entertainment Unit and files for a compulsory divorce from her husband, Joel Flint. In the present, their marriage crumbles with the return of Joel's first love, Winter. The conflict escalates when Winter stages a scene, leading Joel to believe Quinn assaulted her. As punishment, he locks Quinn in a confinement room, fully aware of her deep-seated fear of enclosed spaces. The final betrayal occurs when Quinn suffers a miscarriage; Joel mistakes her severe physical pain for mere moodiness and refuses to take her to the medical station. After losing her child and confronting the full extent of Joel's neglect and betrayal, Quinn finalizes the divorce and leaves the unit behind, closing the curtain on that chapter of her life.
