Cole Summers, a navy janitor scornfully called "mop maggot" by elite pilots, endures constant bullying and the heavy weight of his father's legacy—a once-proud pilot now a disgraced convict. His own father, seemingly broken, tells him he's "not good enough" and even sabotages his chances during the intense Top Gun trials. But Cole possesses a hidden, raw talent. Unbeknownst to everyone, he successfully completes a top-secret flight simulation that no other pilot could, all while pushing his body to extremes his superiors thought impossible. Now, the very navy that looked down on him sees him as their only hope, forcing this undervalued janitor to prove himself in a world determined to break him.
