Tessa Preston is invited by her estranged father to a Christmas family dinner. She arrives alone, carrying gifts from her three sons, and is met with immediate disdain and mockery from her stepmother and stepsiblings, who belittle her perceived poverty. Unbeknownst to them, her sons—a tech mogul, a powerful city figure, and a sports team owner—are influential in their respective fields and are on their way to join her. Their attempts to humiliate her intensify—a cruel bet is made and one of her gifts is destroyed—all while they remain oblivious to the true stature of the sons who are about to arrive.
