Melissa Wood is a hotel maid struggling to survive. After catching her husband David cheating on her at the hotel where she works, her life continues to crumble—her son Tim wants nothing to do with her, and her mother urgently needs $30,000 for medication Melissa cannot afford. One night, she helps a homeless woman who, in gratitude, gives her an unusual gift. The next day, the value of money collapses worldwide—except Melissa's $3,000, which remains untouched, instantly making her the wealthiest person on earth. When she tries to withdraw $200, bank officials scramble to serve her and present her with a coveted black card. Visiting her son, she finds him still demanding and dismissive. At the hotel, David's new girlfriend Veronica mocks her, but a young stranger—Aldrich Kane, who had once given her spare change for painkillers—steps in to defend her. Later, at an exclusive auction, Melissa's black card shocks everyone, marking the start of her extraordinary rise.
